I started this blog to give a voice and platform to those who live where they work and do what they do, including the many tree owners who work for timberwood commons and are our partners. I created this blog as a way to celebrate and educate the people who love trees. I’ve been amazed and humbled by the fact that so many tree owners have a passion for trees and a desire to give back to the community.
We like to think that working with timberwood commons has a positive effect on the environment, but I think the more people who love trees and want to do something about the trees we don’t have the better it is. Many of our readers are also woodworkers but they have a very different outlook on the environment and the way they use their time. There are some trees that do well in the world and some trees that struggle to survive. That’s what I try to capture in my blog.
The world is a bit of a mess when you take everything out of the picture, so I hope that there is a way to get rid of the mess and make it a little more manageable.
There are a few different ways we can make the world a little bit more manageable. We can cut down all the trees and plant more trees. We can plant native forests instead of monoculture plantations. We can move to a different location. We can build a fence that protects our property. We can change the amount of things we use for the sake of less things.
If you don’t want to plant trees, you can just plant a few things. And if we make the trees more like a tree, we can plant a bunch more things and replace them with more plants.
It all sounds nice and all, but what if there isn’t enough room to grow a tree in your space? What if you can’t even get enough space to grow a tree? Well, the answer is you can buy a tree. And if you do, you can plant that tree in your space. We are currently in the process of doing just that. We are creating and planting a tree on a public commons in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In a nutshell, the idea is that you buy a tree on the commons and then you don’t even have to own it to plant it. Instead, you just need to purchase a tree license. This license allows you to place trees in your community. Then, when you want to plant a tree in your community, you pay for the license and you can plant that tree on your commons. That’s the whole process.
There are a lot of ways in which the commons could fail. Maybe enough people don’t have a license that the tree isn’t planted. Maybe the tree is planted and then someone decides to plant a tree in their front yard. Maybe we’re not using enough of the tree. Its hard to say what the best option is, but the idea is to make sure that there are a lot of public parks where people can freely plant trees.
I’m not sure it’s possible to make a “best” option, but I think the current process is fairly good. We are just in the process of making sure that every public park has a tree. It’s not the most perfect process, but it does work.
